Oh yes, I completely hear you, I have NO JUDGEMENT about your reaction. And I completely agree that the commentariat *demanding* that the Black woman writer of those reviews *condemn* the scene (as opposed to just commenting on it) was completely inappropriate because a) Black women have gone so “high” at this point…

Every week I look forward to this show and I have yet to be disappointed. I did not pick up on the way in which Christina had herself attacked was a reenactment of Emmett Till’s horrific murder initially. I also liked that nod towards the book by having Atticus time travel and come back with a copy of Lovecraft…

I think this was actually really interestingly worked through between Leti and Ruby in the episode.

I felt that message in their interchange was, “yes, rage at Emmet Till, mourn him, but do not pay in your own sanity.”
