Yeah, great catch. I am not enough of an aficionado to go that deep into the manga and hentai themes in this episode.

Hi! So, Communism & Queerness have long been interrelated. The “Red Scare” in the 50s and the HUAC investigations often hid their search for gay folks behind a search for communists. Another name for it is the “Lavender Scare.” A large number of folks who were Blacklisted in Hollywood and the Arts, were simply gay,…
I mean, that torture scene of Young-Ja in his memories really threw me. As did the way his face was shut down when they were terrorizing the nursing students.
None of the folks on this show are innocent. Personally, I enjoy that we get complicated characters that can and have done f*cked up stuff. This is still the horror genre and the final characters do not survive without getting blood on their hands, that is a classic horror trope.
We have seen this particular potential…
I didn’t want to stretch it too far in my analysis, but I completely agree.
Those nuns are why I’m a third-generation Xavierite. XU all day for my family!
Oh, I really hope your theory about Ji-Ah comes true...I would love it! Maybe to Lancaster???
*swoon*
Kim’s Convenience is the best.
Thank you for the reminder! I need to go back and catch up on The Terror. I wanted to wait and binge the second season.
It’s explored more in the book, but Lancaster knows both Christina and William’s face. Ruby was “invisible” as a maid and could slip into places in the house that neither of them could get to. She needed to plant that listening device in his office.
Yep. I was like, how the hell? But also, am I really all that concerned about a magical coat appearing when chick just molted her white skin?
I mean, but absolutely horrible, trash folks lead full, wonderful lives everyday. I wish I could believe life was different.
Something else is going on in that basement if they are sticking close to this storyline in the book.
Oh yeah, the part about Lancaster was left in my notes. He wants in on the Sons of Adam. That’s the boot on his neck.
Wow. This and Holy Ghost are my favorite episodes. I will say that it took me a second viewing to recognize just how brilliant this episode was.
Ruby was changed into that exact woman for reasons explained in the book and will probably be explained in a later episode. Good catch. It is an important clue.
I also thought of that Eddie Murphy scene! It was perfect.
I mean, no one said being a changeling was convenient...
That’s true. I read that scene more as Tree cluing the audience in on Montrose and foreshadowing this episode more than anything to do with Tic. He seemed pretty dismissive of it all.
I’m sure we will find out who is right in the next few weeks. Lol!
I really don’t think Tic gives af about his father’s sexuality. He cares way more about the way his father treats him like sh*t.
