I appreciate you actually quoting things I said this time. But, aside from lobbying words like “silly,” “trite,” “thoughtless” and, your personal fave, “unsophisticated,” you don’t really address what I get wrong in the piece. Not in any real way at least. If this is your way of getting your troll rocks off, then I

Live footage of my unsophisticated and meaningless prattling ass, desperately looking for the part where I said capitalism grinds people down “just because” or the part where I posited socialism and communism as solutions:

That’s something people (gender neutral and trans advocates/the penal system) are still trying to work out. How the justice system treats gender expansive people, in general, can be terribly inconsistent and, in some cases, outright cruel.

I don’t think that’s an unfair point. I was a bit squeamish about seeing it labeled “sex” on the license as well, since (as you mentioned), “sex” and “gender” aren’t interchangeable terms. But that feels like a separate point for a separate article.

I feel you beloved, but there’s also plenty of other things happening that make me just a tad bit more scared for our future. Just sayin’.

Hey, won’t knock it!

Man, I love this passion.

Man, another great question to follow up with the researchers about, though I seem to recall studies/data that showed that racial makeup of police units has a limited impact on incidents of racial bias in policing. Think of the LAPD and NYPD for example, which have no shortage of police of color and still have had

Like “latin-ex” or “lah-teen-ex”

Right, Latinx is our house style which subs in for “Hispanic” in these cases. Also, if I understand your comment right, I think you’re right about the use of “Hispanic” with regard to census data, but when it comes to police data (which tends to be a bit cruder) it appears that Hispanic was used a different racial

I agree with this, and from what I read of the findings I didn’t get the impression that the researchers did a comparison on this particular set of data. It would be great for a follow-up interview with these researchers to see if it’s an area they want to explore (and how).

Gah! Thanks for calling this out. That second sentence should actually read before they search someone/their vehicle (since the data/visualizations have to do with searches). Will fix shortly!

It’s a major takeaway, and makes the DOJ’s focus on renewing the war on drugs all the more terrible.

Ah! Sorry, thought the article explained. 2013 is when recreational marijuana was legalized

Apparently there’s been complaints lodged against this building dating back to 2012. Staying on it ‘cus it’s still early, but it’s looking like a lot of negligence was involved.

Right. Something one of my sources told me is that the detainees will likely be deported to Baghdad—a place many have never been and where they may not speak the language (Arabic). It’s unspeakably cruel.

I’m aware, and I have voted, and again, an election isn’t the *only* way to effect change in your community (it may be your preferred method, but people have created positive change in myriad other ways). I don’t understand how that’s a difficult statement to wrap your head around.

I assume you’re talking specifically about the presidential election, in which case, let’s also assume he’s eligible to vote in the state of the California. Our process being what it is, his vote matters substantially less, one way or another, than it does in say, OH, NC, or VA. If this is supposed to be his way of

Awful lot of idiots with extra cash then, it seems.
