We don’t know what she’s paying in rent, but what it does is give the opportunity for the landlord to change the rent to whatever he wants. If/when the daughter leaves the property I’d assume he’d rent it at full market value.

Well, I agree it’s foul to displace an elder, for sure. But I’m also aware that we can’t make assumptions about the daughter’s condition or needs too; simply in the name of understanding the full picture. It could very well be that there’s no life-threatening issue, no crisis, no complexity it the matter and it’s flat…

Yeah but we don’t know the daughter’s situation. We have no idea what her needs are or why.
