(The Root) — Shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday night, a jury found George Zimmerman not guilty in the death of unarmed teen Trayvon Martin, in what was perhaps the most racially charged case in recent memory. "This is the reason you need to make sure juries are balanced more by race," Joy-Ann Reid said in commentary following the verdict on MSNBC. Although that topic was scarcely mentioned in the courtroom, she wasn't alone in thinking about it.
