Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is known for his big personality. It’s one of the things that’s helped him reach superstardom. Of course—like a lot of entertainers at his level of success—that stardom doesn’t come without a few questionable traits.

In a 2017 Instagram post, the “Moana” star inadvertently revealed that he pees in water bottles during his crazy workouts, and that interns and assistants stumble across them. In 2021, he explained to Esquire, “These are just bottles that I’m no longer using. And usually, the gyms that I work out in don’t have a bathroom.”

In a new GQ cover story he clarified things even further. When asked about the issue, he replied, “Yeah. That happens.”

Okay Dwayne, it’s disgusting, but we get it. You’re in the zone and you don’t have time to stop and find a bathroom. But after the workout, shouldn’t you—or some poor soul who works for you—throw those bottles in the trash, so no one else on the set stumbles across them?

The Great Bathroom Bathroom Controversy wasn’t the only weird story the “Jumanji” actor addressed in GQ. In April, The Wrap published a bombshell exposé on Johnson’s alleged bad behavior on the set of his holiday film “Red One.” The piece alleged that he’s frequently seven to eight hours late to set, which led the film’s budget to hit $250 million.

Once again, Johnson didn’t mince words, telling GQ, “Yeah, that happens.” However, he did take issue with the idea that he’s seven to eight hours late to set, saying, “But not that amount, by the way. That was a bananas amount. That’s crazy. Ridiculous.”

The “Fast & Furious” star also called “bullshit” on rumors that he’s difficult to work with. It seems like his “Red One” co-star Chris Evans agrees, as he explained that any lateness on The Rock’s part is actually built into the schedule, so technically he’s on time.

“This is something that the producers, the director, and it’s all his team, so they all know this. It’s not like he’s late unexpectedly, and I wouldn’t even call it late,” Evans said. “He comes in slightly later on certain mornings, but it’s part of the plan. It’s worked into the schedules and everyone knows it, so he shows up when he’s scheduled to show up.”

Johnson is one of the film’s producers, so if we’re being honest, is anyone really going to question him on whether he’s difficult on set, or on how his tardiness affects everyone else? How often does anyone call out their boss when they’re late to a meeting? The answer is never.
