Felix “PewDiePie” Kjellberg may be YouTube’s highest-grossing user, but he’s also back in the limelight for his use of a racial slur. But it’s not his first time at the racist rodeo.
On Sunday afternoon, Kjellberg, 27, was streaming and playing “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds,” when he went on a rant, and let the n-word “slip” through:
“What a fucking nigger,” the Swede said: “Jeez, oh my God! What the fuck? Sorry, but what the fuck? What a fucking asshole. I don’t mean that in a bad way.”
Kjellberg has more than 57 million subscribers, and before his n-word rant, he was under fire for anti-Semitism, and was given the boot by Disney after the company discovered Nazi references in his videos.
According to Mashable, Kjellberg tried to defend his use of the word saying, “[The other player] did a dick move, and I tried to think of the worst word. And I end up saying nigger. I know that no one watching gives a shit.”
Oh, but someone definitely did give a shit. Sean Vanaman, whose company Campo Santo created “Firewatch,” said he’s issuing a DMCA takedown against the YouTuber.
