Birds of a feather do, indeed, flock together. When your crew is glowed-up, that light is bound to shine on you as well. Such is the case for Natasha Rothwell, who just inked an overall deal with HBO, Deadline reports.

Her first project is said to be an original idea, which she’ll write, executive produce, and star in. The original show itself was announced in November of 2016, via Vulture.

While portraying audience fave Kelli on HBO’s hit show, Insecure, Rothwell also serves as supervising producer. The popular (argument-inducing) dramedy will be returning for its fourth season in 2019.

In a September 2018 interview with NPR, Rothwell said she wanted to create more stories “where the protagonist is a plus-size woman of color, and those things aren’t central plot points.” Now, she’ll get a chance to command that expansive narrative.

Rothwell joins costar Issa Rae, who also has a similar deal with the premium cable network.

Consider the big bag secured. Along with the bag, Rothwell has secured acting roles as well, with upcoming projects such as Wonder Woman 1984, the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog, and indie film Limited Partners (also starring Tiffany Haddish).
