Susan Kelechi Watson, who plays one half of the #RelationshipGoals fan favorite couple Randall and Beth Pearson of This Is Us fame, has announced her own IRL relationship goals by sharing news of her engagement to her boo and fellow actor, Jaime Lincoln Smith.
As CNN reports, Watson shared her news on Instagram with an ode to love and a big pic of the big rock on her finger:
“Theyll say its love
And they’ll know its love
For when they call its name
It will answer to love
Without hesitation” ~me
Congratulations were offered all around, including from co-stars Melanie Liburd (Beth Pearson’s sister-cousin Zoe), who exclaimed, “So beautiful! So happy for you both,” and Lyric Ross (Beth’s TV foster daughter, Déjà), who offered exuberant “applause” emojis and the words, “THAT. RING!!!!”
And what a ring indeed.
Smith, an actor known for his work on Law & Order and the Grand Theft Auto video game franchise, appears to have blessed Watson with an estimated 3-carat oval sapphire ring, set on a diamond-encrusted band.
“Depending on the quality and specific characteristics of the center gemstone, we estimate the cost of the ring at approximately $10,000 to $20,000,” jewels expert Kathryn Money told Page Six Style.
Sapphires and other colored gemstones are definitely on trend when it comes to engagement rings, with Money noting that Princess Kate Middleton also has a sapphire ring.
“Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue,” as the old saying goes, are all a bride needs for good luck.
With her sapphire stone and the apparent love she and her fiance share, looks like Watson is well on her way to blessed bridal bliss with something new and something blue.
