Grammy Award-winning singer Wyclef Jean has resigned from his music charity Yele. You may recall that Yele came under fire during the Haiti earthquake recovery period for alleged mismanagement of funds. Jean, who has unofficially announced that he will run for president of Haiti in the next election, has resigned his position at the charity in order to clear the way for the presidential bid. He and his family arrived at an electoral council office in Port-au-Prince today. The winner of the November 28 election will preside over billions of dollars in international aid. If an actor can be president of the United States, why can't Wyclef Jean be president of Haiti?
