Given the racial tension in the nation (and the world) and the ongoing Black Lives Matter vs. All Lives Matter debate, outspoken performer Wyclef Jean has a few choice words: “Only idiots would be saying, ‘Why do black lives matter?’”
The Root sat down with the Grammy Award-winning artist and producer at Ozy Fusion Fest. Jean continued, “The reason why black lives matter is because you can’t keep executing black people in broad daylight and it’s on video and you get away with it.”
Jean, who attempted to run for president of Haiti in 2010, knows something about politics and says that heavily populated “ghettos" (i.e., underserved communities) in the United States are suffering because of bad policy. He suggests that the next president of the United States focus on action.
And he's with her.
“I don’t think that politics is personal, I just think that within the situation for the country, I really feel that gearing towards Hillary Clinton is going to be the much better pick,” he said.
