Musician-turned-politician Wyclef Jean is reportedly in hiding after receiving death threats about his bid for the presidency of Haiti. In e-mails sent to the Associated Press, Jean says he received a phone call telling him to get out of Haiti. Some have raised questions about whether Jean should be running because he may not meet the residency standards established by Haiti's electoral commission. The commission stated late Tuesday that it was postponing its ruling on who will be allowed to run for president in November elections, leaving Jean's candidacy in limbo. The commission is supposed to announce its ruling on Friday. We hate to say it, but welcome to politics.
