Musician Wyclef Jean has decided to end his bid for the presidency of Haiti. Last month Jean was declared ineligible to run for president by Haitian election authorities. He subsequently went into hiding after receiving death threats. MSNBC reports that Jean issued a statement saying, "After weeks of quiet but painstaking reflection with my wife and daughter, I have chosen to end my bid for the presidency of Haiti." Jean says that he will now focus on his music and plans to release an album entitled, "If I Were President, the Haitian Experience." We wish the title were "Moving On," because that is exactly what he needs to do. It's great to aspire to greatness in different areas, but sometimes it's best to stay in your lane. This is one of those times.
