A Nigerian woman traveled all the way to Brooklyn, N.Y., to deliver her healthy triplets Thursday morning, reports the New York Daily News.

Temitope Alao had been trying to conceive for about six years, and at about eight months into her pregnancy, she gave birth to two boys and a bouncing baby girl.

The 34-year-old welcomed three 3-pounders into the world: a girl, Temiloluwa, meaning “God belongs to me”; and two boys, Oluwafikayomi and Ifeoluwa, meaning “God has increased my joy” and “God’s love,” respectively.

Both of the babies’ grandmothers were in the delivery room, including the new mother’s mother-in-law, Afolake Alao, 58, a longtime registered nurse at Woodhull Medical Center in Brooklyn. The News reports that Afolake insisted that her daughter-in-law come to the United States for the delivery.

“I knew she would get good care here,” said Afolake at a press conference on Friday.

Temitope’s trip to New York involved a 13-hour flight with a layover in Paris; the babies will return to Nigeria when they are old enough to travel.

The proud papa is reportedly making his way to the U.S. to see his new family.
