Gawker.com is reporting that a Philadelphia woman has been arrested for allegedly using Facebook to solicit a hitman to kill the father of her child. ABC 6 reports that police say London Eley, the intended target's ex-girlfriend and the mother of his 1-year-old daughter, allegedly solicited to have him murdered.
According to authorities, Eley posted this message on her Facebook wall: "I will pay somebody a stack to kill my baby father." Translation: "I'll pay somebody $1,000 to kill the father of my child." Investigators say Timothy Bynum took her up on the offer. Bynum posted on his Facebook wall, "Say no more," "what he look like?" "where he be at," "need dat stack 1st" and "ima mop that bull." Translation: "Pay me first and I'll kill him." The intended target, whom police are not identifying, says he learned of the solicitation shortly after it was posted and went to police.
When police arrived at Bynum's home, they found a loaded .22-caliber handgun with the serial number shaved off. Bynum was arrested on attempted murder and conspiracy charges. Eley was charged with solicitation to commit murder. Both face long prison sentences, as they should.
In the words of Fred G. Sanford, "You big dummy!" They should have been arrested for being stupid — soliciting a hitman and agreeing to the murder on a Facebook wall. Seriously? These two clearly aren't wrapped too tight. They'll have many years to think about what they planned to do while sitting behind bars.
