Azealia Banks filed a battery report against Russell Crowe Monday after a hotel incident in which she alleges the actor choked, spat on and called her n—ger. Banks was attending Crowe's Beverly Hills, Calif., hotel-suite party as Rza's plus-one, and alleges the incident happened Sunday night.
Contradictory reports from witnesses have emerged, with some stating that Banks was the actual aggressor. But security cameras may be able to tell the truth about what transpired.
According to TMZ, the incident was captured, but there's no telling how much the video will show. The Beverly Hills Police Department now has the video in its hands and is investigating the incident.
Banks' manager issued a statement about the incident and says the truth will come to light:
When contacted by The Root, Raymani said that Banks would be making an official statement by the end of the week.
What's interesting is that many people want to focus on Banks' previous behavior but either seem to have forgotten about Crowe's behavior between 1999 and 2005—which included being arrested on assault charges—or would rather speculate on whether Banks is telling the truth.
