With a social media footprint that includes 1.9 million Instagram followers, 640,000 followers on TikTok and 78,000 followers on X, University of Colorado-Boulder quarterback Shedeur Sanders has a pretty solid fan base. It also doesn’t hurt that his dad and coach is former NFL player Deion Sanders – the only athlete to play in both the Super Bowl and the World Series.

So it should come as no surprise that fans who want to see the young Sanders have a successful football career in college and beyond are sending up smoke signals as a video of a recent exchange he had with Kendall Jenner makes the rounds on social media.

Jenner pulled up in Boulder, Colorado this week to promote her new liquor brand, 818 tequila. A video released on September 17 shows the model/reality tv star/socialite hugging a hooded Sanders. And while the hug looked innocent enough, viewers made a point of mentioning that the Kardashian/Jenners have a habit of ruining the careers of most of the Black men they date – Lamar Odom, Kris Humphries and Tristan Thompson just to name a few.

“Nothing good comes after a BLACK athlete gets wit one of them Kardashian’s/Jenners,” the post was captioned.

People even compared the social media savvy sisters of preying on promising young athletes.

“No gang he got to run. They bad luck. Fr fr everybody they talk to magically forget how to play sports,” wrote someone,” wrote another person on X.

Still some skeptics weren’t buying the idea of “chance meeting” between Sanders and Jenner, believing ya girl knew exactly what she was doing when she showed up in his Colorado town.

“Happened to be, nahh she was recruiting,” wrote someone.

Although most of the commenters had plenty to say about a potential Jenner-Sanders coupling, one of our favorite comments was a meme from the Jordan Peele movie “Get Out” with a one-word warning, “Run!”
