Today, Barack Obama announced more cabinet and adviser selections. They, however, come without surprise. Outside the cabinet will be his campaign foreign policy adviser, Susan Rice as U.N. ambassador, and retired Marine Gen. James L. Jones as national security adviser. In the cabinet, Obama selected Eric Holder as Attorney General, Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano as secretary of homeland security, and Robert Gates will stay on one more term as defense secretary. And, the most controversial pick was made official: Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) will serve as secretary of state. Obama chose three women and three men; two black people and four white people. No one seems to be talking about the diversity, with which this cabinet is taking form. There are still questions though. The major question surrounding the this selection has been, will Obama and Clinton be able to work together after such a heated Democratic primary race? I'd be inclined to say no. But, Obama hasn't really messed up yet. And I don't expect him to for another couple of months; I'll wait until he takes office.
