Now that the beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake has long been over, other artists affiliated with the different parties are being affected.

Earlier this month, Rick Ross was jumped after playing “Not Like Us” at the end of his set at a music festival in Canada. Now, ScHoolboy Q is claiming to be the next “victim.”

On Wednesday evening, the Los Angeles MC was promoting his shows in Toronto and Chicago on X, telling fans that if they buy any merchandise for his 2024 album, “Blue Lips,” they could get a free ticket to the show.

But just hours later, Q shared that his show in Canada would not be happening anymore, writing on X, “THey just cancelled my sHow in TORONTO… CANADIAN POLICE DONT WANT NOBODY FROM TDE PERFORMING..”

He then referenced how the TDE label head, Top Dawg, was just hanging out with Cash Money and Young Money heads Birdman and Lil Wayne. He also jokingly added that he never should’ve never been in the music video for “Not Like Us.”

When a fan joked that Q may have gotten “Rick Ross’d,” he responded by saying, “I don’t tHink u know wHo I am. In fact I do t tHink a lot of u know wHo I am..”

Even well-known internet annoyance, DJ Akademiks, jumped in the convo, quote-tweeting one of Q’s posts, writing, “Sending Prayers for Peace and healing. Battle was good. Time to move on.”

In response, the “THat Part” rapper said, “I neva said “ ima kill sumbody” im saying if we wanted to crack it off we could’ve smH. Rap and move on playin tuff gon get sumbody Hurt it’s all good ima soccer dad.”

We’ll likely never know if Drake or anyone affiliated with OVO got Q’s Toronto show canceled. But the timing is eerie: Toronto is Drake’s city and the last thing he or anyone who likes him would want to see is someone closely affiliated with Kendrick Lamar performing.

Although K. Dot is no longer signed to TDE, he’s still cool with everyone on the label but has yet to drop an album on his own imprint, pgLang.
