Dame Dash is known to hold on to grudges. He still hasn’t amended his relationship with Jay-Z, and recently took shots at R&B singer John Legend for something that happened more than 20 years ago.

During a recent interview with “The Art of Dialogue,” Dash opened up about the artists who were going to sign with Roc-A-Fella Records, before opting for a different choice.

Before going on a rant about Legend, Dash said, “If Roc-A-Fella never would have got dismantled… That’s the only thing that’s sad about it is it didn’t get to realize its full potential.”

He later added, “ Common Sense was supposed to be on f***ing Roc-A-Fella. John Legend was supposed to be Roc-A-Fella. I toured John Legend. I would have never took John Legend on the road with Kanye and paid for him to go around the world to sing before Kanye sang unless I thought that he was going to sign to Roc-A-Fella. But he did some sneaky shit and went to Sony.”

Although Dash is still salty, Legend’s decision to not sign with Roc-A-Fella has worked out for him. He has released 10 full-length albums since 2004 and has sold more than 10 million records.

He’s been nominated for 38 Grammys and won 12, including Best R&B Album (three times) and Best New Artist. Legend also has 23 songs that have charted on the Billboard Hot 100, including two that have made the top 10 and one that has reached the top spot (“All of Me”).

Meanwhile, Dash’s standing in the industry has only diminished as has lost a lot of his wealth and has taken every opportunity to take shots at Hov and other past associates.
