Although fans are excited that Young Thug has been released from jail, it seems that the rapper himself is not too happy about the conditions of his release.
On Wednesday, during a live stream of “TheFitLawyerATL,” Keith Adams, who represented the Atlanta rapper along with Brian Steel in the longest trial in Georgia history, gave some insight into the case and the thoughts of his celebrity client.
When asked about the acquittal of Yak Gotti and Shannon Stillwell, the last two defendants in the trial, Adams shared that he spoke to Thug shortly after, and said that “his reaction was twofold.”
Adams shared, “He was happy for [Gotti] and for Stillwell. Very happy. He was happy that they’re coming home. There was a part of him I think that was thinking, ‘You know what, we probably should have gone all the way ’cause we would have been walking out of there with a not guilty verdict as well.’”
He continued, “I agree, we would have and we wanted to. There came a point where Jeffery made a decision to enter that plea and go home that day, and he did. So his reaction, he was happy for them but there was a little bit of regret on his part.”
He later added that despite some regret, he was happy to be home.
Although Thug is home, he agreed to plead guilty to multiple drug and gun-related charges.
The “So Much Fun” rapper can’t travel to Metro Atlanta for the next 10 years and cannot have any contact with any affiliated gang members, according to NBC News.
He’s also required to perform 100 hours of community service each year, which included doing presentations that promote anti-gun violence and anti-gang to Atlanta-area children.
