During an interview on “Late Night With Seth Meyers” on July 10, Whoopi Goldberg host warned the crowd that “No one should do this” before delving into her story about spreading her mother’s ashes.

Goldberg’s mother, Emma Harris, passed away in 2010 at 68 years of age. “My mother loved Disneyland, and so we took her to Disneyland,” Goldberg began the seemingly heartwarming tale. “And when I was a kid, the World’s Fair was here, and it was the introduction of Small World, and she loved Small World.”

As the story progressed, things became a little peculiar. To spread Harris’ ashes, Goldberg confessed, she would “scoop some of her up” and pretend to sneeze to release them at the park. The legendary actress also said she used this same strategy to also spread the ashes near the “flowers where it says Disneyland.”

Goldberg then stated that her actions weren’t a secret to the theme park’s employees as she explained to Meyers, “I told them I did it.” “I wanted to make sure, actually, that I hadn’t done something that was dangerous ‘cause it hadn’t occurred to me. But there’s a reason they don’t want ashes just floatin’ around,” she continued.

In 2017, Goldberg herself was inducted as a Disney Legend. In the past, she has stated her mother always wanted to experience Disneyland but simply couldn’t afford to.

Goldberg has been a co-host on “The View” since 2007 and has garnered her fair share of controversial headlines—especially when it comes to former president Donald Trump.
