In news that could only be described as “excuse me, what?...” comedian Corey Holcomb has filed new legal documents claiming that he was jumped by another comedian. The gag? It was a woman. Don’t worry, we’ll explain.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ on Monday, Holcomb is seeking a restraining order from fellow comedian Cristina Payne whom he alleges both physically and verbally assaulted him in December 2024. Per the radio host, he alleged that Payne struck him while his back was turned outside of the famed Los Angeles comedy club, Hollywood Improv.
Immediately after, she began allegedly verbally accosting him and using foul language to speak against him and lobbed insults. Among them were disparaging comments about Holcomb’s mom, of whom Payne allegedly called a “b*tch”, and comments about the comedian’s penis size.
“Your d*ck ain’t sh*t, that’s why your wrist got broke,” Payne allegedly said in reference to the injury Holcomb suffered over six months ago that resulted in him breaking both of his wrists.
The former comedian also alleged that Payne’s boyfriend tried to act like “a hero” and diffuse the situation but his intentions were false.
What’s more, is that Holcomb’s version of events are completely different than Payne’s in that she previously told TMZ that she was the one who was allegedly hit in the face by the radio host and that he was the one who actually instigated an altercation before he ran off.
Police reportedly took a battery report that day but no further action after that until Holcomb’s filing. Payne also told TMZ back in December that Holcomb allegedly talked about doing something to her months prior and acted on it when they saw each other at Hollywood Improv. A hearing for Holcomb’s restraining order request is scheduled for Tuesday.
