As I grow older, I try not to judge, but when I read that producer Stevie J and singer Faith Evans got married, I admittedly rolled my eyes into calling-the-cops (i.e., white) territory.
On what planet is Steven “Stevie J” Jordan ready for marriage, Faye?
Yes, he’s adorable and even funny at times, but as those with even a precursory knowledge of Love and Hip Hop Atlanta know, Stevie is a big kid (reportedly with an even bigger [redacted]), but even that can’t make up for a string of affairs, children (six at last count), and just plain old drama, including a fairly recent drug problem and owing over a million dollars in child support.
And Faith wants to enter into a legal (and spiritual) partnership with dude?
We know you married Biggie after two weeks of meeting him, but you were young then. At this point, you grown, with grown kids, and Stebbie is both a grandfather and a father of a child who’s not even 2 years old.
We know from the show that at least two of his baby mommas are certifiable. But he got some more smoke—an IG post from Joseline Hernandez, the mother of his 18-month-old daughter—which includes a text from Stevie asking her to marry him (and then cussing her out when she declines) [Updated: July 19, 2018, the IG post has since been taken down, the words “Happy honeymoon!” (not visible); see screenshot below]:
I guess.
TMZ reports that the two jumped the broom on Tuesday night in Vegas.
The next day, Stevie tweeted, “I love you Faith Renee Jordan,” and Faith replied, “I love you back Steven Aaron Jordan.”
Apparently, the two have known each other for at least 25 years through Diddy’s now-defunct Bad Boy label (Faith was an artist and Stevie an in-house producer). Perhaps they’ll make beautiful music together for a very long time.
But bets are that this will continue to venture into Messy Marvin territory.
