According to Billboard, her estate, managed by her sister-in-law Pat Houston, announced Friday that a hologram of Houston will perform at a major U.S. concert venue in 2016. The hologram concert will likely embark on a world tour thereafter, a press release stated.

"It's a great opportunity for her fans to see a reinvention of one [of] the most celebrated female artists in history and to continue a legacy of performances that will not be forgotten in years to come. I look forward to the partnership," Pat Houston said about the estate's partnership with Alki David, the CEO of Hologram USA, according to Billboard.

David's company created the hologram for the Chief Keef concert that was supposed to take place in Chicago earlier this year, which police ended up shutting down for safety reasons not related to the hologram.

Back in 2014, Pat Houston reportedly said that she was reluctant to sign off on a Whitney Houston hologram, but she did say that she would consider it down the road.

I guess she thinks now is the perfect time.
