Wesley Snipes was at Comic-Con in San Diego Thursday promoting his new TV drama series, The Player, which centers on the criminal activity that occurs at a high-stakes casino, but Snipes’ fans had more important things on their minds.

What about a Blade 4?

In an interview with Deadline, Snipes spoke about a meeting with Marvel and said he wouldn’t mind returning to his hit bloodsucking movie series.

“The project is controlled by Marvel, and we did have a really productive and a wonderful meeting, and we discussed a number of things. I don’t know where it’s on their schedule at this point; that hasn’t been decided. I guess it’s still up in the air,” Snipes said.

The actor also hinted at working with Marvel on future projects not related to the Blade franchise.

“That’s a possibility, too. I’ve always been a fan of these pieces and adaptations, and [it’d] be nice to be a part of the family again,” Snipes said. “But if we don’t do a Blade 4 or something else with Marvel, we’ll do something else. We have some other characters and some other concepts that are going to be just as exciting, and hopefully just as successful. The first season of The Player will be interesting as well because we have drama and action, which is what I like. It gives me a chance to do a number of different things.”

Snipes also spoke about how different working on television is from making a feature film. “It connects to your audience’s households weekly, and I think that changes your profile, your ability to stay somewhat private and anonymous, which film offers you. But then again, the idea of doing television just seemed like it’s the right time,” he said.

Whether or not Snipes will return to the Blade franchise remains to be seen, but you can still catch him in The Player, which will air this fall on NBC.
