Although Jennifer Lopez has been married four times, the first man she tied the knot with 27 years ago is still handing out advice to the pop star.

During a recent interview with the Daily Mail, Ojani Noa, Lopez’s first ex-husband, gave some pointers to the “Jenny From the Block” singer amid her divorce from actor Ben Affleck.

Noa said that J. Lo should “stay single for a while, take 12 months off. If she meets someone new, maybe keep it private and not get married again. She has an amazing career and she’s a hard-working, beautiful woman, but when you’re with someone, you have to spend quality time with them and not think about being on camera. I would just say to Jen: you need to be yourself so you can find yourself.”

Noa, a personal trainer, actor and producer based in Miami, has never remarried since divorcing Lopez in 1997. “There are no bad feelings at all. I would always be her friend. I sympathize with both of them because divorce is hard,” he said.

Noa and Lopez met in 1996 — before Lopez became an international celebrity — while she was in Miami filming for the movie “Blood and Wine.” After the filming of the movie, Noa was invited by Lopez to a club where their love first blossomed.

Nearly a year after they met, the two got married and lived in Los Angeles together. But after just 11 months, the couple split.

Noa shared that their marriage was challenging because they did not spend enough time together. “I put a lot of time and effort into loving her. But when you’re with someone, you have to spend quality time with them and not think about being on camera.” he told the Daily Mail.
