Former President Barack Obama is totally the girl who broke up with us and knows our new girlfriend is an airhead who’s verbally abusive and thinks we could do better. And we, progressive America, are the boyfriend who wants her back.

It’s been three months since our breakup with Obama, and we’ve had to endure him on vacation and hanging out with Michelle. Now he’s given his first public speech, and it was difficult to watch because he’s so much more presidential than our current president, who looks like a run-over, orange winter boot.

In his first speech since leaving the White House, Obama noted that the political vibes coming out of this Lil Zane-ass administration is turning America off. Obama was too cool to mention TrumPutin directly, but clearly we know that he doesn’t care for this dictatorship.

“What’s been going on while I’ve been gone?” Obama joked as he took the stage for a forum with Chicago students and young professionals, USA Today reports.

During Monday’s forum, Obama discussed his views and what helped shape his presidency. He also spent time during the hourlong forum questioning the audience about how to get more young Americans more engaged in politics and shaping police.

“The one thing that I’m absolutely convinced of is that, yes, we confront a whole range of challenges,” said Obama, pointing to climate change and lack of opportunities for low-income students as areas that need improvement, USA Today reports.

“All those issues are serious and daunting, but they are not insoluble. What is preventing us from tackling them and making more progress really has to do with our politics and our civil life,” he said.

Obama’s appearance comes as President TrumPutin nears his 100th day on vacation in office and as 45’s approval rating is at an all-time low. According to a Washington Post/ABC News poll published Sunday, TrumPutin is at 42 percent, the lowest approval rating at this point of a presidency since Dwight Eisenhower was in the White House.

Damn, Obama. We miss you.
