It’s no secret that Blue Ivy Carter, the eldest daughter of Beyoncé, is a rising star. But what you may not know is that she’s a budding style icon and we’ve finally have some insight on her latest iconic look.

Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar in a new interview, Bey’s longtime stylist Shiona Turini let readers in on how Blue’s Christmas Day halftime show outfit was selected. As we previously told you, she and her mother danced alongside each other in a halftime performance of the NFL game between the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans. With everyone adorned in white but Blue being Bey’s daughter—it was pertinent that she had a look that made her blend in the rest of the dancers but a look that was also unique enough to satisfy her fly fashion sense.

“When Bey said she wanted everyone in white, I knew we had to look at different textures, different patterns, different accents—whether it was fringe, suede, crystals, American flags,” Turini explained. “You really have to lean into the elements that are going to make each section feel different so it doesn’t feel repetitive. But for Blue, you can play around with her options because she will be different from anyone else, no matter what.”

Turini went on to explain how though she only had to pull together one look for Blue, the final decision ultimately comes down to whatever she feels great in. Needless to say, it’s clear “The Lion King” starlet picked a winner.

“With Blue, we get to have a lot of fun because it’s just one independent special costume, and ultimately she makes the final choice,” Turini said. “I was happy that she chose that, and I think she looked great.”
