Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin slammed President Barack Obama for what she sees as a lack of leadership and a soft response to terrorist threats against the nation, Yahoo News reports.
"Enemies, who would utterly annihilate America, they who'd obviously have information on plots, to carry out jihad. Oh, but you can't offend them, can't make them feel uncomfortable, not even a smidgen," Palin said on Saturday at the National Rifle Association's rally, Stand and Fight, in Indianapolis. "Well, if I were in charge, they would know that waterboarding is how we'd baptize terrorists."
The NRA's annual convention reportedly drew thousands, many of whom got a chance to hear the conservative superstar speak.
Palin also warned attendees of "intolerant, anti-freedom leftist liberals" and "clownish, 'Kumbaya'-humming, fairy-tale-inhaling" Democrats who want to "strip away our Second Amendment rights," Yahoo notes.
"If you control oil, you control an economy. If you control money, you control commerce," she added. "But if you control arms, you control the people, and that is what they're trying to do."
She also attacked the left-leaning stance of gun-free schools, calling it "stupid on steroids."
