That didn’t take long. The first meme of 2024 is already in full effect, and Black Twitter is loving it.

The funny part is, it came from a place many were not expecting it to.

To set the scene, on Monday morning, during ESPN’s college football pre-game show, “College GameDay,” host Rece Davis was doing a bit on the University of Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe.

During the segment, he said, “Jalen Milroe often wears his own branded apparel reading, ‘L.A.N.K.’ across the front. It’s an acronym that stands for, “Let A Naysayer Know.”

As you would imagine, many people (mostly Black) thought Davis was going to say another N-word. Even the rest of the College GameDay cast, notably Pat McAfee, thought Rece was going somewhere else with his monologue on Milroe.

Thankfully, everyone got a good laugh out of it and it created the best live TV moment we’ve had in a while.

Just watch how it all played out on ESPN:

While it didn’t work out for Milroe and the rest of the Alabama Crimson Tide, Black Twitter has naturally run with the viral moment and has substituted that N-word for “Naysayer.” It has led to some hilarious posts all over social media.

Think of any popular moment in Black culture where someone used the N-word, Black Twitter has replaced it with the term “Naysayer.”

These are just a fraction of the memes used, as Black Twitter has been on an absolute tear since the ESPN segment aired on Monday morning. Based on the memes that are still being created it seems they have no intention of slowing down.

If this is just a fraction of how hilarious Black Twitter is going to be this year, 2024 is going to be funny for everyone involved.
