Remember Frank Somerville, the white news anchor whose Facebook photo of himself attending to his adopted black daughter's hair went viral back in July? He's among those featured in Soledad O'Brien's documentary "Who Is Black in America?" which is set to air at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Dec. 9 on CNN.
Also featured is Rachel Noerdlinger, who says she felt "a big void" when she was in her 20s and went through an identity crisis. "My parents thought we could be colorblind, and they raised us in an environment where we didn't talk about race," Noerdlinger says. We're looking forward to the special's investigation of racial identity and all its nuances and complications — including those that arise when kids and parents are different colors.
