If this video of kids from Washington, D.C.'s Orr Elementary School doesn't get you into the back-to-school spirit, we don't know what will. But according to the school's YouTube page, the footage of students performing "School Is Awesome" is designed to do more than that.
It's just one part of a schoolwide approach meant to counter negative environmental influences and "establish a positive school climate; build social, emotional and intellectual proficiency; and show the global community that the opposite prevails for most youth stigmatized by geographical location and schools with limited resources." We think they have the right idea (and, on a lighter note, they're adorable).
