Michelle Obama doesn't mind joking around, especially if it helps kids make healthy food choices. And recently she enlisted the help of Stephen and Ayesha Curry to sing the praises of healthy eating with an oldie-but-goodie viral song.
In 2014 the first lady's "Turnip for What" song, promoting healthy lunches, immediately went viral. So why reinvent the wheel?
In the newest clip, the Currys lend a helping turnip—we mean hand—and humorously join in the fun during what was their February visit to the White House.
"Turnip?" Ayesha Curry says while holding a turnip.
Of course, Lil Jon's "Turn Down for What" is playing in the background, with Steph Curry mouthing, "For what?"
And then the party breaks out.
In an interview with the Washington Post, Michelle Obama's chief of staff, Tina Tchen, spoke about how she uses social media to reach the masses.
"The ability to … put out a viral video, and you can hit tens of millions of people, and it doesn't cost you anything—that's pretty remarkable," Tchen said. "We in the East Wing have the ability to be a little freer … to do a rap video—though I guess now the president does rap videos too, now that it's his second term."
This is yet another example of why people will miss the Obamas.
