It’s the trailer you’ve all been waiting for. Well, probably not, but it’s here anyways. Lifetime has released the first trailer for its Aaliyah biopic, which is being executive-produced by Wendy Williams.
Oh, and get this. The soundtrack for the trailer features Iggy Azalea. I will try my hardest not to throw shade at the Australian with the fake booty and blaccent to match.
But it’s not beneath me to share everyone else’s shade:

Aaliyah is portrayed by Alexandra Shipp, who took on the role after Zendaya Coleman left after being scrutinized.
Take a look at the trailer below:
Swooped hair. Check.
Baggy clothes. Check.
Trademark shades. Check.
R. Kelly? Have to hold off on that check for a second. That’s the one subject people are wondering if the movie will mention, but Lifetime hasn’t given any clues whether it will be touched on.
Lifetime’s Aaliyah: Princess of R&B will air on Nov. 15, and the network plans to release several other teaser trailers before then.
