Snoop Dogg is truly living his best life. The hip-hop legend has gone from carrying the Olympic torch in Paris, to being one of NBC’s biggest highlights with his unique coverage of the Games, to breathing new life into singing competition “The Voice.” Now, he’s teamed up with the one and only Al Roker to deliver the greatest weather report ever.
During Thursday’s episode of “Today,” Al gifted Snoop with a very special weather segment, where all the cities highlighted had one thing in common.
“Snoop, we’ve prepared a special map,” Roker said. “All you gotta do: touch the map, and you’ll see some special Snoop cities.”
Once he touched it, the map came alive with temperatures for cities like Weed, Calif., Hempstead, Texas and Smoke Rise, Ala. We’re guessing you picked up on the connection to the “What’s My Name” artist’s well known love of marijuana.
“It’s 57 degrees in Mary Jane Falls, Nevada? Then I heard it’s gonna be 56 degrees in Stoner, Colorado,” Snoop said. “But my favorite is when it’s nice, hot and misty outside — 84 degrees in Blunt, South Dakota.”
As Al and the rest of the studio couldn’t contain their laughter, Snoop continued his forecast, doing a pretty good job navigating the map.
“70 degrees in Roach, Missouri,” he said. “And over here, you know we stay lucky in Kentucky. It’s gonna be 60 degrees as we blaze in Blaze, Kentucky. Over here we’ve got Pottsville, Pennsylvania where it’ll be 60 degrees, and down low on the go, 61 degrees at High Point — get that — High Point, North Carolina.”
Bothe entertained and impressed, the “Today” vet declared, “That’s the best one we’ve ever had!”
In the wake of Hoda Kotb’s recent announcement that she’s leaving the show, many have wondered if the 70-year-old Roker will be the next to leave. While Al has made it clear he’s not going anywhere just yet, seems like he may have found his successor for when the time comes.
