Speaking with the legendary musician ahead of the release of his 12th studio album “Blue Electric Light” for CBS Mornings, King fulfilled her normal journalistic duties by inquiring about his record. But when the conversation turned more personal towards Kravitz’s love life, the interview took a hilarious turn.
“Do you have a significant other in your life? And can I beat her ass if she is? Oops, did I say that out loud?” King said, prompting shock and laughter from Kravitz. “And I’m non-violent, Lenny Kravitz! But do you have a partner? Do you have love in your life?”
Kravitz’s response?
“Right now, I’m just open. It’s hard not to look when you desire something, you know, you’re looking for it. But I find that when you don’t look is when you find it. And I’m at a place where — I’ve said this for several years, ‘I’m ready, I’m ready, I’m ready.’ I wasn’t ready. I thought I was ready, right? But I can say that I’ve never felt how I feel now.”
