Don Cheadle is directing and starring in a new biopic about the legendary jazz musician Miles Davis.
The film is called Miles Ahead (also the name of a classic song and album by the trumpeter, who died in 1991), and by the looks of a clip obtained by Yahoo!, Cheadle has Davis' mannerisms, voice and musical chops down pat. Watch the clip here.
The film will reportedly be released next year. Cheadle has said in prior interviews that jazz was a huge part of his upbringing, so in a way, this project probably comes somewhat naturally to the Academy Award nominee.
In the video below, Cheadle speaks with Davis' son and nephew about Davis and the film. Davis' relatives describe the moment they knew that Cheadle was the right guy to play their patriarch. Check it out.
