When celebrity couples break up they’re not usually given the time regular people get to process their emotions. Just because you’re in the spotlight doesn’t mean you magically get over a breakup easier than everyone else. Rapper DDG, who recently split from singer/actress Halle Bailey, with whom he shares young son Halo, addressed his post-breakup life in a new YouTube video.
In a video posted on his channel Tuesday, he told followers, “Don’t ship me with nobody because I don’t plan on dating.” He made it very clear where he stands right now.
“No, I’m not dating. I haven’t ‘moved on,’ whatever that mean in y’all sense,” he said. “I’m just really focused on work. That’s what I be trying to explain to y’all.”
These comments come in response to photos of him with singer Ahna Mac making the internet rounds. Like anyone in their post-breakup phase, DDG is focused on his career.
“This week I probably linked with three girls, right? For work purposes, you feel me? And I go on TikTok and I see y’all making edits like I’m dating this girl,” the YouTuber said. “It’s like, damn, y’all don’t even know I’m just working, bro.”
Elsewhere in the video, he also addressed the possibility of growing his family by giving 11-month-old Halo a sibling. He wants more kids, but he also has specific ideas for how that happens.
“Yes, I do want to have another kid. But I don’t want to have another kid too far away,” DDG said. “I don’t want Halo to be 10 and his little brother is one, you feel me? I feel like that defeats the entire purpose of having another kid.”
While he wants his kids to be close in age, he’s “cool with just having Halo.” He also “wouldn’t mind having a daughter…I think that would just be dope.” Something he’s not cool with is his children having different mothers. If possible, he’d like to have kids with “the same person.” That would mean adding to his family with “The Little Mermaid” star. We’re sure she has thoughts on that subject.
“One thing that I do not want to do is to have ‘baby mamas’ or whatever y’all like to call it,” DDG said. “If I was to have another kid, it definitely would be with the same person. I don’t want to have kids with multiple people. I feel like that’s just too much.”
As they continue to find their way through co-parenting, it seems like DDG and Halle Bailey may have some other issues to discuss. We’re wondering if number one will be him airing out family business on YouTube.
