Forget “No Air”—it looks like Chris Brown was all air during a recent stop for his 11:11 Tour. I’ll explain.
In now-viral video footage, the beloved singer was recently caught dangling mid-air during his performance in Newark, New Jersey on Wednesday. An apparent technical malfunction that prohibited him from gliding over the crowd and instead literally left him hanging in place—the unfortunate circumstance happened while he sang his popular hit “Under the Influence.” As Brown kept singing (pretty flawlessly, despite the circumstance) and the dancers he brought along kept hitting the choreography, eventually three men and a giant ladder was brought onstage in order to unhook Brown from the harness and release him back on the ground which prompted applause from the crowd.
As you can see from the footage above, Brown yelled something towards one of the men as they walked offstage, looking visibly upset momentarily before continuing on with his performance. In additional fan footage posted to X/Twitter, the “Go Crazy” singer can be heard saying sometime afterwards: “Nigga got stuck in the air and shit. I was mad than a motherfucker, I ain’t gon’ lie. But y’all helped me through it, it’s all good.”
And while the moment may have been upsetting for the “Go Crazy” singer, for fans online, it was just more of a reason for them to love him:
“Chris Brown got stuck in the air last night, still sung & sung flawlessly. I’m floating too. Unreal,” wrote one user on X/Twitter.
“Chris Brown got stuck in the air during 2 whole songs and he didn’t stop singing once, a true performer if you ask me he was pissed but didn’t ruin the experience for anyone,” said another.
“Chris Brown got stuck in the air last night…and he still performed like 3 songs… folks give that man his flowers & respect,” another user commented.
“Professionalism at the peak He is the Goat for real,” said another, in part.
