Tiffany Haddish continues to make headlines for all the wrong reasons yet she is trying—as comedians do—to find the silver lining in it all and laugh about it. But many don’t seem to think it’s funny. The “Girls Trip” star, 44, was performing at The Laugh Factory in Los Angeles on Christmas Day when she began to address her most recent DUI arrest to a crowded room, and things got awkward.

In a video obtained by TMZ, Haddish is festively dressed as Mrs. Claus and grasping for some chuckles from the audience about her experience going to jail in Beverly Hills.

“Girl, I know I’m gonna be all right, I’ve been through way worse than this—I’m sorry, but you ain’t lived till you got arrested in Beverly Hills, OK?” Haddish said. “It’s beautiful over there. I’ve been in quite a few jails - just like the rest of y’all - I can tell some of y’all been to jail, I still smell jail.”

When Haddish was arrested on Nov. 24, it was her second DUI offense in two years. She was also arrested in January 2022. A few days after being arrested this year, Haddish told Entertainment Tonight: “I’m going to get some help so I can learn balance and boundaries ... this will never happen again.”

In her set at the Laugh Factory, Haddish even broached the subject of getting her cycle while in jail. “I’m bleeding in the jail, OK cool ... but they had the best maxi pads,” she said. “I’ve never seen pads so big.”

She added, “I was comfortable, it was nice. They gave me one of those fleece blankets that you get in like first grade to take a nap on, and I did that, I took a nap. It was beautiful - wonderful experience!”

Haddish has been charged with two DUI misdemeanors — driving under the influence of alcohol as well as driving with a .08 percent blood alcohol content — by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. She pleaded not guilty.

As comfortable as the “Haunted Mansion” star might think jail is, let’s hope she leaves this behavior behind in 2023 and gets back to making people laugh.
