Another day, another Karen decides to lose her mind at an airport. On Sunday (Jan. 5), a Southwest Airlines passenger was caught on camera for insulting workers using a racist slur after she was told her bag was too heavy.
The harrowing video, which takes place at Indianapolis International Airport, shows Whitney Kayla Wyatt, 30, going after the employee. Even though Wyatt’s bag was five pounds too heavy, she demanded that it be let through as reported by the Daily Mail.
When two staffers—one white and one Black—informed her that they couldn’t do that, Wyatt’s tirade began. “Go ahead and be a f***ing c**t,” she said in the presence of two children that accompanied her.
“Stupid a** f**king n****r a** b***h. I need to get on my flight.”
Donning a knit Las Vegas Raiders hat, a black jacket and tortoise shell glasses, Wyatt then apparently threatened legal action against the Southwest employees and claimed to be an attorney.
“I work at a law firm, do not f***ing come at me like that, don’t say ‘first of all.’ I am freaking out right now,” she screamed. “Look, I have two small children, I have a dog.”
Initially, Wyatt appeared to earnestly ask if the staffers could work with her and stated she needed to get on the flight after one of her kids needed to receive “a very important surgery that he couldn’t have.”
However, when the bag was denied she immediately started using racist slurs. After the incident, police were called in to escort Wyatt away. She was also given several warnings to stop her disorderly behavior.
Wyatt allegedly refused and began resisting and insulting officers, who arrested her for disorderly conduct and resisting law enforcement.
In December, a different Karen was recorded by photographer Pervez Taufiq hurling racist insults at him and his family on a United Airlines shuttle bus in Los Angeles.
