Just one week after we showed you a video of a teenager throwing a massive tantrum inside a Georgia cell phone store as she pleads with her mother not to disconnect her cell phone service, social media is buzzing with yet another child making an outrageous scene – this time, it’s a young girl in a Walmart.
Consider yourself warned, this clip will shock you – because most of our Black mothers and grandmothers raised us to know the rules of shopping: don’t touch anything, don’t ask for anything, and definitely don’t embarrass me. But in this video, a young girl is seen walking through what appears to be the dairy section of the store, violently throwing items to the floor. Her actions cause other shoppers to stop and stare at the girl in disbelief.
The girl continues moving through the store, kicking displays, throwing things and ignoring adults who try to restrain her. In one of the most pearl-clutching moments, the girl moves on to a display of glass grape juice bottles and throws them onto the floor, causing the glass to shatter and the juice to splatter everywhere. The video, posted on X on December 2, has already received nearly six million views.
As a man approaches the girl to stop her from doing any more damage, a white female shopper tries to stop him.
“Don’t you do that to a little girl, y’all don’t know what she’s been through,” she says.
Meanwhile, a Black woman, who clearly knows the girl needs some good old-fashioned discipline, can be heard asking about the girl’s guardians.
“I know you’re just trying to be strange, but I’m not touching nobody’s kid,” she’s heard saying. “Where is her mama, or whoever she’s with?”
The clip ends with a man throwing the girl over his shoulder and carrying her away. It isn’t clear whether or not the man is the young girl’s parent.
As you can probably expect, the comment section of the post was flooded with viewers in disbelief that the girl was able to do that much damage inside the store and leave in one piece.
“I would be picking my teeth from the floor. Lol,” wrote someone in the comments.
Others used the girl’s actions to make a strong case against gentle parenting.
“This is not the time for gentle parenting ma’am! Tf,” wrote another commenter.
But one of the best comments features a Sheryl Lee Ralph meme and a question anyone Black watching the video was likely asking themselves.
“But y r they listening to that white lady???” posted one hilarious commenter.
