A Washington white woman who initially claimed that a teenager assaulted her is now the one on the wrong end of the law.

On Oct. 25, Jennifer Vincent called the authorities, telling them that a teen at Pioneer Park in Tumwater, Wash. pushed her, according to KING 5 News. But when a responding officer arrived at the scene, they immediately spoke to a group of teens who witnessed the alleged incident, and their story couldn’t be more different from the one Vincent initially reported.

More from KING 5 News:

When an officer arrived, they contacted a group of teens who told police that Vincent had been walking around the park “shouting racial and derogatory statements to him and other Hispanic people.” The teen described by Vincent in the call to police told officers that Vincent first had gone over to a family taking pictures for their young daughter’s quinceañera and “told them to go back to their country,” according to court documents.

That same teen said Vincent eventually walked over to the group he was with and got in his face, “told him to go back to where he came from and he’s not allowed in this country,” court documents said. The teen said Vincent then shoved him, and he responded by shoving her back, he told police.

After speaking to other witnesses who shared a similar story as the teen, the officers felt they had probable cause to arrest the woman for harassment and assault of the 14-year-old boy.

Per the report from KING 5 News, Vincent attempted to resist the officers arresting her, even attempting to pinch one of them on the leg. She also requested medical help, even though she was seen walking around normally when they arrived at the scene.

Earlier this week, she was officially charged with malicious harassment, assault, and resisting arrest. The harassment charge included a hate crime designation. Vincent’s next appearance in court will be on Nov. 25.
