Tiffany Haddish made her mark during New York Fashion Week, but it doesn’t look like that mark is being well-received by the masses. That’s par for the course for Haddish, but I’ll explain.
During the Monse Spring 2025 Show, Haddish sat front row alongside “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Kathy Hilton and her daughters Paris Hilton and Nicky Hilton Rothschild. During a lull before the show began, Kathy essentially dared Haddish to get up and walk the runway herself as shown in video footage posted by Paris to Instagram.
“Right now,” Kathy told the “Girls Trip” star, to which Tiffany replied: “Right now?”
“Right now! You go down and tell the photographer...right now! Do it and wave! Yes, now there’s nothing going on,” Kathy said egging Tiffany on.
What happened next, well—take a look for yourself.
As the “Night School” actress began to strut her stuff, she was met with some applause from other attendees and laughs from Kathy, Paris and Nicky.
“I love her,” Kathy said as Tiffany made her way back to where she was seated. In another video angle from the event, she can be seen nearly walking into an actual runway model as the show began to finally commence. Once she returned back to her seat, she and her three seat-mates shared more laughs before Kathy and Haddish shook hands.
However, as the video began to circulate online, many on social media didn’t find the “Like a Boss” star’s antics funny at all.
“Who are Tiffany Haddish’s friends? This is something a college student would do for jokes, not a seasoned professional entertainer. They could have kicked her out for this,” one user said on X/Twitter.
“Hear me out. I think Tiffany Haddish is Hollywood elites’ court jester. That’s why they keep inviting her to things,” said another.
Over on TikTok, user @ohmygawd.mo raked Haddish over the coals for her behavior in a video with nearly 11,000 likes, saying in part: “I feel like every few weeks I’m like ‘ugh, I cannot fucking stand Tiffany Haddish.’ And then she does this dumb shit during New York Fashion Week. Why would you walk the runway like that? No f***ing decorum?”
Fellow user Rayy Symone also echoed similar sentiments in her TikTok video, saying in part:
In my opinion Tiffany Haddish is doing whatever it takes to get people to notice her and that’s what’s going to be to her demise. She’s doing whatever it takes. Even if she looks foolish...
Tiffany was that Black girl who went to an all-white school and she would sit next to the popular kids to become their friend. And whatever her popular friends said to do she would do so that she could be cool with them. Come to find out, those people don’t even like her, they’re just using her because she looks stupid because everything she says to do, she does it. Only because she just wants to be popular like them. That’s Tiffany Haddish.
To be clear, during NYFW, it’s natural to expect something shady or something outrageous to happen, but Haddish may have gone a touch too far with this as there are just some unspoken rules to fashion week that folks must abide by. Interrupting and crashing a show is one of them.
Given the fact that this isn’t the first time she’s done something outrageous or downright uncouth, it begs the question of why folks keep encouraging her embarrassing behavior.
