A security guard at Drake’s mansion was shot outside of his home in Toronto, Ontario, Canada early Tuesday morning.

According to CTV News Toronto, he was injured in the incident and taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The shooting allegedly occurred overnight and happened outside the gates of Drake’s Bridle Path home, known as “The Embassy.”

Toronto Police Operations gave more details in a post on social media, saying that the incident occurred between Bayview Ave. & Lawrence Ave E. after 2:00 a.m. The suspect left the scene after the shooting occurred.

In a press conference later in the day, Toronto police inspector Paul Krawczyk added that they have been in contact with Drake’s team and that they expect to have video of the incident.

Although authorities know when and where the incident occurred, they currently have no descriptions of the suspect or the vehicle they fled in. There is also no clear motive that authorities are aware of.

The timing of this incident is eerie considering it occurred just days after the craziest weekend in rap history involving Drake and his Compton rival, Kendrick Lamar. In a span of six days, six songs dropped between both of these artists.

Two from Drake (“Family Matters” and “The Heart Part 6") and four from Lamar (“euphoria,” “6:16 In LA,” “meet the grahams,” and “Not Like Us.”)

Ironically, the cover art for K-Dot’s most recent and popular diss, “Not Like Us,” shows an aerial view of Drake’s Bridle Path home with several red markers across it. These markers resemble those found on maps marking the homes of registered sex offenders.

The sex offender claims are unsubstantiated and were later denied by Drake on his latest record, “The Heart Part 6.”

Social media sleuths are already suggesting that the shooting and the “Not Like Us” cover are connected.
