While hip-hop fans always love a competitive rap beef between two talented MCs, they can sometimes go over the edge and affect people who aren’t directly involved in the feud. Lastonia Leviston is one of those people, who got roped into 50 Cent’s beef with her ex-boyfriend, Rick Ross, more than a decade ago.
On the first episode of the new Netflix reality TV show “W.A.G.s to Riches,” Leviston opened up about her past with 50 and how it almost caused her to take her life.
“My baby daddy is the one and only Rick Ross. Our daughter is 22 years old, but I left Ross when she was 2 years old,” Leviston shared on the show. “It’s so difficult because I still reside in a home that my baby father, Rick, owns. I feel like I’m in a luxury prison, almost. ... I don’t even know how that fat boy wooed me off my feet, but he did. I went home with him the first night. I thought I was his Lil’ Kim and he was my Biggie.”
She said that she later broke up with Ross, and started dating a new man, named Maurice Murray, who would record the two being intimate without her consent. “He didn’t even really ask,” she said on the show. “He would just pull [the camera] out.” But the tape found its way into the hands of Ross’ enemy, and it was exploited in the battle
“Never once in my brain thought that I would have sex with him on tape. So, I did the tape,” she said. Things got rocky. [He] started cheating, so I outed him to the other girl. In the height of the breakup, the beef started between Rick and 50 Cent,” she explained. “.... Long story short, my ex, the guy that was in the sex tape, he’s bitter. So he actually goes and sells the tape to 50 Cent. And then 50 Cent released it. … It’s petty and it still haunts me to this day.”
She also added that she felt she was “collateral damage” in Ross’ beef with the 50 and it led to her becoming suicidal.
Even though 50 Cent’s actions were deplorable, Leviston eventually got her payback. She sued the rapper/businessman in 2010 for leaking the video in 2009 of her having sex with her then-boyfriend Murray.
According to the Washington Post, she claimed that 50 released the video without her permission after allegedly getting it from Murray.
Five years later, in 2015, Leviston won her lawsuit boss. A judge ordered Fiddy to pay Leviston $5 million, which reportedly caused the Queens MC to file for bankruptcy.
