Do you like free events? If the answer to any of those questions is yes and you’re going to be in L.A. on March 29, then you should come and join The Root, Very Smart Brothas and The Glow Up for Urban by Nature, sponsored by Toyota, at Millwick from 8 to 11 p.m., for an event where we’re going to bag it up and rake it up while talking about how we kick it with Mother Nature.

Where does unapologetically black and Mother Nature meet? At Urban by Nature, of course! A panel discussion featuring African-American influencers talking about their love for the great outdoors, Urban by Nature is all about getting outside and having a good time. Whether it’s hiking, swimming, surfing or running, these individuals from the worlds of entertainment and media have done it—and loved it! And they want to see more people like them out there taking advantage of the great outdoors. Join The Root for the very first joint The Glow Up and Very Smart Brothas event—Urban by Nature. The event will be followed by a networking mixer and light refreshments.
You read that right! There will be a panel discussion moderated by Panama Jackson and featuring Damon Young, Maiysha Kai, Crystal Marie McDaniels and James Ward. We’ll talk about how we like to live off the beaten path and what that means, if anything, as people of color.
So come hang with the cool kids—you know, after you hike Runyon Canyon (I’ve seen all of your Instagram pictures with deep quotes; who the hell is taking those pictures?)—with some light refreshments, drank and good convo. Shenanigans? Consider them ensued.
