Vivica A. Fox is celebrating her 60th birthday, which seems impossible because she looks like she hasn’t aged since “Set It Off.” Most people would feel some type of way about such a big milestone birthday, but the “Two Can Play That Game” actress isn’t worried about turning 60. She’s in a really great place and is excited about the future.
“I am so comfortable in the skin that I’m in,” she told People. “I am so at peace with turning 60. I mean, a lot of people are like, ‘Oh my God,’ but I feel like I’m going to be sizzling at 60, even sexier at 70 and awesome at 80. Lord willing.”
She definitely doesn’t plan to slow down anytime soon, as she has a new project lined up that finds her working with an unexpected collaborator. Fox reunites with embattled “Empire” co-star, Jussie Smollett, for her new film.
“We’ve known each other for a very long time, and I call him nephew because we’ve talked through the good, bad and everything,” Fox said. “And the main thing is that it’s good to see my friend smiling again. That’s the main thing that’s important to me. But he is my director of our new film that’s coming out called ‘The Lost Holiday.’ And can I tell you, I was so thrilled to read the comments. Everyone deserves a second chance.”
Until her next project hits screens, let’s celebrate Vivica’s birthday with a walk down memory lane and an exploration of her top five highest grossing movies, according to Box Office Mojo.
‘Independence Day’ - $817,400,891
It’s no surprise that the sci-fi action blockbuster is Fox;s biggest movie, as it was a huge phenomenon when it came out and remains very popular.
‘Independence Day: Resurgence’ - $389,681,935
The long-awaited follow-up to “Independence Day” wasn’t well received. If it had come out right after the first one, things may have gone differently, but this time the story didn’t have the same emotional draw.
‘Batman & Robin’ - $238,259,753
We almost forgot Vivica was Miss B Haven, Mr. Freeze’s henchwoman. Of course, that’s not the actress’ fault, as we’ve tried to forget almost everything about “Batman & Robin.”
‘Kill Bill: Vol. 1’ - $180,908,413
One of Fox’s best performances comes in the one-two punch of Quentin Tarantino’s “Kill Bill” movies. She and Uma Thurman have a spectacular fight scene in the first film, which leads to her character’s death.
‘Kill Bill: Vol. 2’ - $87,908,974
Vivica’s character makes a short appearance in the second movie, but maybe we’ll see her again if Tarantino decides to make the long-awaited “Vol. 3” everyone wants to see.
