VIDEO: Stewart to Perry: Don't Do the 'Brother' Thing

The GOP presidential debate was a dream come true for The Daily Show's Jon Stewart — the candidates hoping to secure their party's nomination gave the host more material than he knew what to do with.

He caught an audience member in wide-eyed shock over a shouting fest between Mitt Romney and the other candidates, and likened Michele Bachmann's pledge to build a "double wall" to halt illegal immigration to "the way Gillette comes up with new razors."

And then, of course, there was his commentary on the already infamous moment when Rick Perry (just recently at the center of the Ni—erhead Ranch controversy) boldly decided to refer to the one black candidate on the stage, Herman Cain, as "brother" — twice! "Herman, I love you, brother, but you don't have to have a big analysis to figure this thing out … I'll bump plans with you, brother," he said.

Cain, for his part, didn't seem to mind in the least (and when you think about it, he actually is pretty close to being an ideological "brother" with Perry). Nevertheless, Stewart's whispered advice about the phrase was, "Go easy."
